Over the weekend of Dec. 8 and 9, the Mira Costa girls varsity soccer team participated in the South Torrance High School Tournament.
The girls won their first match against North Torrance 7-1, with 2 goals from seniors Megan Mahoney and Rachel Oster.
The girls also won their second game against Lakewood High School 1-0 with the only goal scored by junior Mandy McKeegan.
“This was the first tournament in which our seniors playing club could play, which really showed how much stronger we are this season and how all of our training has paid off,” senior Kirby Benson said.
