In a steamy crowd teeming with boisterous people, flannels, and cowboy boots, a rowdy atmosphere was apparent when country singer Jason Aldean went onstage. Aldean, and warm-up band Florida Georgia Line, raised the heat with their energetic stage presence and catchy, country songs when the “Burnin It Down” tour came to the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater.

Any country fan would have enjoyed the concert. With western food and lots of libations, the venue transformed into a Southern-themed area and provided the environment for great performances by both artists.

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, Jason Aldean, a highly revered solo country star, has impressed his fans with chart-toppers since 2005. Because of his constant musical surroundings at a young age, Aldean joined his first band at 15 years old, and is currently signed to Broken Bow Records. His real name being Jason Aldine Williams, Jason chose the stage name of Aldean. He felt that Justin Williams was too common of a name, and therefore changed the spelling of his middle name and made it his last.

Florida Georgia Line, consisting of singers Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley, formed in 2010 and has recently become a popular duo in the country community. Natives of Florida and Georgia, the singers met through a mutual friend in Nashville while attending Belmont University, and are currently signed with Republic Nashville.

A clear difference between Aldean, the more senior artist that’s been in the industry for years, and FGL, a younger and fresh artist, provided a good combination of varying tunes, songs, and performances. Both artists sang equally as well as their album performances, and combined with their thrilling stage presences, the show exceeded high expectations.

There was apparent heart and drive that Jason Aldean and FGL brought to the show. While drinking whiskey on stage, FGL’s members danced excitedly around the stage, and connected with their fans by talking directly to them about California and their music. Their stage presence was energetic and sincere, making their performance very powerful.

Aldean brought a more calm and emotional mood to the stage with his slower songs, including “Why,” and excited with his rowdier ones, like “Dirt Road Anthem” and “She’s Country.” With his guitar in hand, Aldean’s years of experience performing were apparent in his confidence and comfort on stage. With a video of the singer behind him, Aldean also sang an emotional duet with star Kelly Clarkson. Between solo singing with his microphone, and energetic songs with his band and back-up singers, Aldean showed all of his sides as a performer.

At a great venue with talented singers, the concert was very successful and a fantastic show. Overall, Jason Aldean and Florida Georgia Line displayed their talent and personalities with passion, resulting in an exciting performance.
