After a complete failure in his movie “Grave encounters,” director Colin Minihan fails yet again in his new thriller “Extraterrestrial”.

“Extraterrestrial” is a thriller with a suspenseful, chilly, and entertaining story that is ruined by horrible acting a predictable plot.

Starring Brittany Allen and Freddie Stroma “Extraterrestrial” is about a group of friends who go off to a cabin for a weekend and end up becoming victims of an alien attack. Stranded in their cabin without any cellular service, these friends must find a way to avoid the aliens in the thriller that is “Extraterrestrial”.

One highlight of this film is its dark atmosphere that is created by the eerie setting, which is a lonely cabin in the woods. The atmosphere fits along with the concept of alien abductions because both are scary and uninviting. The mood and atmosphere add a little more scare to the movie because they add suspense to what will happen next.

On another positive note, the overall main story is compelling. Although it is a little difficult to follow each character as they all split up, the story of how each character decides to take on the aliens is very entertaining because it is suspenseful and frightening. For example, it is very exciting when the characters try to hide and the aliens end up appearing right behind them in a jolt.

However, the characters’ performances are unconvincing because of their lack of interest in the situation they are in. The actors are not motivated and play their roles without any effort. For example, when they find an alien ship crashed next to their house, they show no concern. Additionally, this film’s adventurous plot line is forgotten because of the apathetic way the actors play their characters. The actors do not react well to the situations and show little emotion throughout the movie. For example, when Allen’s boyfriend leaves to try to protect her from the aliens, she shows little interest.

Also, this sci-fi movie about aliens appears unrealistic because of the poor special effects. For example, when the aliens appear on screen, they are hard to distinguish from the humans. This is a major blow to the overall movie because improbable characters make a pointless movie.

The worst part of this movie is the atrocious ending. The director attempts to add a plot-twist for an ending to make the movie more entertaining, but ends up making the movie more confusing and unbelievable. This worsens the quality of the movie because it only makes the movie more confusing.

All in all, the poor acting and horrible special effects wreck this creative movie idea of an alien invasion on Earth. The negative aspects outnumber the positive, which results in a poor horror movie.

“Extraterrestrial” is currently available for rent on “Amazon” and “Google Play.”
