Boys tennis defeated by Santa Barbara 10-8

The Mira Costa Boys Tennis team took on Santa Barbara at Santa Barbara High School in a non-league game. The game was played on Saturday and the Mustangs lost with a final score of 10-8. This brings their record to 10-6 on the season.

Junior Alex Gaal led the mustangs in the singles division winning two out of his three matches with scores of 6-1 and 6-2. Junior Twins Blake and Tanner Suard led the doubles division winning all three of their games.

“Santa Barbara is a very solid team,” Tanner Suard said, “they just happened to be better than us that day. It was good practice for us however since we have tough games coming up.”

The Mustang’s next game next game will be on Tuesday, April 21 at 2:30 pm at Palos Verdes High School. This will be a game that has very important Bay League implications for the Mustangs.

“This next game is very important for us,” Coach Joe Ciasulli said, “PV is a very good team and we need a win to stay in a good position in Bay League.”
