Baseball defeats Inglewood 16-0

The Mira Costa Baseball Team faced off against Inglewood High School, winning the game by a score of 16-0. The game took place on Wednesday and was played at Inglewood. Mira Costa now stands at a record of 16-7.

The Mustangs took an early lead during the game and Inglewood was not able to catch up. Scoring for the Mustangs were senior Rene Houseman recorded three runs, while Juniors Reese Alexiades, Will Proctor, and Trevor Franklin scored 2 runs each, along with Senior Ty Conrad.

“We played a strong game,” Pitcher Brett Davis said. ‘We had fantastic hitting and really had good defense during the game.”

The Mustangs will rematch Inglewood who now stand 0-8 on Friday at home. The Mustangs have been practicing hard as their season begins to come to end. The Mustangs will have an overall record of 17-7 if they are able to defeat Inglewood for a second time.

“We have really been working hard in practice,” Davis said. “Our season is slowing down and we hope to finish it off in the best way possible.”
