With the opening of The Point came many new and intriguing restaurants including Hopdoddy Burger Bar. Its incredible service and unique layout coupled with its delicious menu and great aesthetic, has attracted many new customers since its opening on August 17, 2015.

Founder Chuck Smith has made it possible to bring the original flavors of Austin, Texas here to El Segundo, California with the opening of Hopdoddy. This new burger bar has a very laid back ambience, perfect for family outings.

One will notice immediately the restaurant’s very spacious layout with a bar placed in the middle and raised up booths on either side. The sleek design of the restaurant makes the environment feel homey and welcoming.

Much like a fast food restaurant, orders are taken and paid for at the cashier before each meal. The burger is then delivered to the table almost immediately which creates .

The service was incredible and my fries came out within two minutes. The manager walked around several times to ask everyone how their meal was and there was constantly a worker nearby assisting people and/or asking them how their meal was. I never had to get up for refills or for napkins because of their constant presence.

The burgers offered at Hopdoddy had many interesting variations and styles. Some of them such as the Greek burger had very unique ingredients such as lamb, feta cheese, arugula and cucumber. The unique ingredients used and tastes achieved in the burgers definitely set Hopdoddy apart from other similar restaurants.

The burger itself was extremely delicious and had very rich flavors. Since Hopdoddy bakes its own bread, the burger was tasteful and its freshly baked bun brought out an even more rich flavor. However, due to the juiciness of the burger the bun got soggy halfway through my meal which made it hard to eat and enjoy the last bites.

Hopdoddy also has an extnsive selection of shakes which range from stout chocolate to lemon olive oil biscotti. All shakes are spun with their homemade custard mix and topped off with real whipped cream. The selection was unique and the variety of flavors offered .

After ordering the oreo shake I noticed a strange flavor and could clearly taste the custard. Although very delicious the shake did not taste anything like oreos and if it weren’t for the clearly visible oreo chunks I would had never suspected the shake was supposed to be oreo flavored. I did not enjoy the false advertisement of flavor and the actual flavor was unexpected.

Their beverage selection was also extremely intriguing. They did not carry any regular sodas often associated with restaurants but instead had their own line of drinks which included vanilla creme soda and blueberry soda. I found this very original and again, sets the restaurant apart.

Overall I highly recommend Hopdoddy as a place to visit with your family and friends. It is also recommended for a delicious meal with extremely good service.
