Comedy Central’s show, “Workaholics” is based on a trio of men who work in the telemarketing business but spend most of their time messing around and smoking weed or drinking returned for its sixth season on Jan. 14, 2016.
With the sixth season started all of the shenanigans, chaos, and characters return to the show. With the first episode of the season containing new sets, making the show seem fresh and hopefully will continue and get rid of the constant repetition the show had in previous seasons.
“Workaholics” is a fictional comedy which focuses on the lives of three men who never seem to grow up. The show comedically presents the lives of three office slackers and stoners, and it focusing on their lives at home and at work while they procrastinate, harass, and prank others around them.
The premier follows the trio Adam DeMamp (Adam Devine), Blake Henderson (Blake Anderson) ,and Anders Holmvik (Anders Holm) as they are tricked into switching telemarketing branches and corrupted from their routine of procrastination to motivation.
Workaholics should work to change up the show of the show due to the fact that many episodes seem to repeat themselves with the characters always making trouble in similar ways. But from the looks of the first episode, the sixth season will be following the same format of really no continuing story.
The one thing “Workaholics” does to make their show entertaining and running after 6 seasons, is how they use the characters. Each character tells a different funny and odd story that is to either relatable or insane, making it interesting to watch.
Not only do the characters make the show hilarious, but Workaholics also uses scripts that always fits the character. The show builds a persona of each character and uses the great script to build on the overall funniness of the show and the characters.
Even though the characters make the show interesting, the setting of the show has typically added to the bore of the show. Rarely ever leaving their house or office, the show title is what could be expected, besides the fact that they are barely ever working when shown in the office, but with the sixth season airing changes may be in store.
“Workaholics” is a comedy filled with inappropriate jokes and humor and despite a past repetition the sixth season will be one to watch.
The sixth season of “Workaholics” airs at 10p.m. on Thursdays on Comedy Central. The show is rated MA.
