“We really struggled to get a rhythm going against those guys,” Jackson said.  “I tried to keep our guys going, but it was tough.”

The Cubs jumped on Costa early, nailing their shots and grabbing rebounds with precsion.  The Mustangs were unable to keep up and fell behind in the second quarter, ending the half  48-33.

“They were incredibly quick on both ends of the court,” junior guard Ryan White said.

In the second half, Costa fought hard to put up 16 points. However, its defense lapsed and it gave up 19 points, ending the game 71-49.

“It was a tough game. We fought and did what we could,” Jackson said.  “I’m proud of myself for how my teammates played.”

Costa finished the season at 17-12 overall and 5-5 in Bay league.

“This was a good year, and there is no reason we can’t have just as much success next year,” White said.
