Baseball defeats Malibu High School, improves record to 17-4

Baseball defeated Malibu High School in the second round of the Chatsworth tournament.

Mira Costa’s baseball team defeated Malibu High School 16-3 on Saturday in the second round of the Chatsworth Tournament. Performances from seniors Reese Alexiades and Will Proctor boosted the Mustangs over Malibu.

 

Proctor and Alexiades each hit a homerun in Saturday’s game. Alexiades also had three hits and two runs batted in while Proctor had two hits and three runs batted in. According to Proctor, the team was full of energy the entire game and was determined to redeem themselves after yesterday’s loss.

 

“We were fully focussed the whole game,” Proctor said. “At the plate we were all swinging the bats well and got key hits with runners on in scoring positions.”

 

The Mustangs, now 17-4 overall and 2-2 in Bay League, play its next game at home on Wednesday against Inglewood High School. According to Alexiades, the team is in good form right now and should continue to keep winning.

 

“The team is looking great right now,” Alexiades said. “We are a very solid team this year and we are looking forward to our next couple of games.”
