Mira Costa’s girls tennis lost to Peninsula High School, 7-11, at home on Tuesday, with a top performance by senior Lena Nagy.

Leading player Nagy won her singles match 6-4. According to Nagy, the team was disappointed with their results and hope to improve their volleys and net game.

“We were very disappointed with our results today,” Nagy said. “In doubles my partner and I struggled at the net which allowed them to get some easy points off us.”

Costa, now 9-4 overall, will take on Palos Verdes High School on Thursday away. According to Nagy, the team is going to practice very hard these next few days in preparation for their next match.

“Today’s match was a real eye opener for us,” Nagy said.  “We are going to use the next few practices to work really hard and improve our game in preparation for our game on Thursday.”
