“This House is Not for Sale,” Bon Jovi’s latest album release, is a must listen for all classic rock fans.

“This House is Not for Sale” combines thought-provoking lyrics and uplifting vocals and each song is unique in mood and tone. However, despite exhibiting Bon Jovi’s signature style, the album consists of bland melodies shows the band’s lack of creativity.

“This House is Not for Sale” was released on November 4 on island records. The album outlines the band’s roots in music, as well some difficulties it faced on its journey to success.

Bon Jovi has released 13 studio albums since its creation in 1983. The band includes members Jon Bon Jovi, David Bryan, Tico Torres, Phil X, and Hugh McDonald. Some of their well known songs include“Wanted Dead or Alive,” “Livin’ on a Prayer,” and “I’ll Be There for You.”

The voice of Jon Bon Jovi has always been known for its enlivened tone,“This House is Not for Sale” is no exception. Noticeably throughout the album, the vocals that are exhibited in consistently are low pitched, but contain a lot of soul and emotion.

Throughout the album, the lyrics are thought-provoking and remain entertaining throughout all of the tracks. The flow and tone of the lyrics are robust and exhibit uplifting content. The addition of uplifting lyrics makes the album play out more smoothly.

Each individual track on the album is distinct. When played simultaneously, the listener is taken on a journey of highs and lows, just like the peaks and valleys faced by the band itself.

Throughout the album, many of the songs were quite reminiscent of tracks from the band’s previous album, “Burning Bridges.” This similarity went beyond just a common style; many of the guitar riffs throughout the album were almost identical to ones used previously. This unfortunate aspect shows Bon Jovi’s inability to innovate and create a piece that fully engages the listener.

Another negative aspect of the album is the bland melody, consistent on most of the tracks. For example the track “Labor of Love” is plagued by a weak, simple melody. Due to the consistent monotonous melodies, the album lacks the ability to hold the interest of the listener. The $14 dollar price tag is well worth paying. Bon Jovi has established itself as a staple of American rock culture. It would be foolish not to hear what the band has been up to lately.

The album is available for streaming on Spotify, Apple Music, Google Play and through most other music streaming services.
