Mira Costa’s boys soccer team was defeated 2-1 on Tuesday against Narbonne High School in an away game in the second game of the South Torrance Annual Holiday tournament. The loss came despite a goal from junior midfielder Cooper Arak.

The goal was the second in as many games for Arak, and the assist came from Senior forward Kevin Glasser. According to Arak, it was the team’s energy that helped him score the team’s lone goal.

“Although we did not get the win today, I think we brought the right type of energy,” Arak said. “As long as we keep bringing energy to our games, I think that we will have a chance against anybody.”

The Mustangs, now 4-2-2, will play their next game of the tournament against Ventura High school on Wednesday. After 3 straight losses, junior defender Josh Rudow believes that the team must not get rattled.

“I don’t think that we deserved to lose these last 3 games,” Rudow said. “But that is how it is in soccer sometimes, so we shouldn’t get caught up in that and just keep going hard every game and try to come out with wins.”
