Mira Costa’s boys soccer team was defeated 2-1 by Narbonne High School in their second game of the South Torrance Annual Holiday Tournament, at South Torrance High School. The lone Mustang goal came from junior midfielder Cooper Arak.

Narbonne scored the first goal of the game, however the Mustangs were able to tie the game up after the Arak goal. According to Arak, who has scored a goal in two consecutive games, the goal came from the team’s build up play.

“The little combination passes that we play ultimately lead to me scoring the goal,” Arak said. “It is vital for our team to get through balls right and really focus when we are tasked with finishing in front of goal.”

The Mustangs, now 4-3-1, will play on Wednesday in the game of the tournament at South Torrance high. According to junior defender Josh Rudow, the team must look to break their two game losing streak in the next game.
“We have had a tough couple of games so far in the tournament, both of which we barely lost,” Rudow said. “For our next game we really need to focus more and put more energy in if we want to win.”
