The Mira Costa Mustangs girls’ soccer team played their first game of the season on Nov. 29 at home against Torrance. The game finished in a 0-0 tie.

The tough defense of Mira Costa and Torrance resulted in a close game during all 60 minutes and neither team could prevail. Eventually after two long halves of soccer, no one was able to score a goal, and the game ended in a tie.

The girls’ soccer team is also coming off of a successful season in which they participated in their second consecutive CIF playoff run that was led by returning senior starters Kendall Richter, Samantha Curry, and senior goalie, Dana Eisenhower.

The top performer of today’s game was goalie Dana Eisenhower. She had eight blocks for the Mustangs and kept the game close for Mira Costa.

The Mustangs (0-0-1) play again at Santa Monica on Dec. 1.
