A unique and creative treat, the Ridges Churro Bar truck at First Fridays is surely a dessert any sweet tooth can enjoy.

Ridges Churro Bar, a food truck based in Orange County, has combined churros and vanilla ice cream into an elaborate treat that enables customers to customize and incorporate a multitude of delicious flavors for their dessert.

The unique dessert company began as a  small booth at the Orange County Night Market Food Festival with less than 5 employees in June 2015.  After immediate success, the small company continued to serve at other food festivals and eventually expanded into a food truck in 2016.

Today, Ridges Churro Bar travels daily to various locations across California. The menu consists of churros, ice cream, coffees, and their signature churro sundaes of various flavors.

Ridges Churro Bar expands upon traditional food truck desserts by allowing customers to choose from a plethora of flavors, including the Cinnamon Sugar Churro Sundae. Though simpler in comparison to an item such as the “Fruity Pebble Churro Sundae”,  the cinnamon sugar complements the plain ice cream suitably.

The churro in the Cinnamon Sugar Churro Sundae is not overbearingly sweet like most churros, and instead perfectly combines in flavor with the vanilla ice cream. It is also served hot, so it tastes fresh and soft in texture juxtaposed to the cinnamon toast crunch crumble that lay on top of the vanilla ice cream.

The cinnamon toast crunch sprinkled on top of the ice cream helped create multiple textures within the dessert as well as an added spice. The customer could easily enjoy the cinnamon-sugar flavor with the vanilla ice cream without having to consistently chomp on the hot churro, creating an easier-to-eat and well balanced dessert.

The vanilla ice cream within the sundae has a balanced sweetness as well as a thick consistency. This made for a perfect side dip to dunk the churro in, creating a multi-faceted dessert that resulted in a heavenly taste.

Along with serving their unique dessert sundaes, Ridges Churro Bar  also serves hot and cold coffee. The Cold Brew Coffee Float combines a rich, bold coffee base with their signature vanilla ice cream to create a dessert that any coffee connoisseur would enjoy.

Ridges Churro Bar fuses a traditional cinnamon sugar treat with delicious vanilla ice cream perfectly, and  is a must-stop at First Fridays on Abbot Kinney for anyone who likes ice cream, churros, or both.
