After two years of working as Mira Costa’s Vice Principal, Kristin Wolberg will leave the Manhattan Beach Unified School District to move to Oregon.

Wolberg will not move to Oregon until next spring, but she will first travel to other countries with her husband. When Wolberg moves to Oregon, she plans to do an administrative job, but has not determined which school she will be working at yet.

“I’m going to miss all of my kids and colleagues,” Wolberg said. “It has been a great time and I’m excited for what lies ahead for everybody here [at Costa], and hopefully we’ll keep in touch with a lot of them.”

One major initiative Wolberg has implemented at Costa is the school-wide use of the Learning Management System, Canvas. Wolberg currently does not know who will take her position of Vice Principal next year, as interviews have just been conducted.

“Improvement is a constant process [and] the transition is going to be key,” Wolberg said. “[There are] a lot of jobs that I’m in the middle of and I want to make sure those don’t just stop when I leave. I want to make sure they are not only continued and picked up where I left off, but that the next person is ready to look for ways to continually improve each of those initiatives.”
