Mira Costa girls golf team defeated Redondo Union High School 207-281 at Chester Washington Golf Course on Tuesday. Costa was led to an easy victory by its top scorer senior Delilah Gunn by a score of 37. She nailed all her putts and her drives were accurate and long.
Gunn was fueled by a score of 40 from junior Klara Nagy and a score of 42 from sophomore Shani Waite. Gunn said it wasn’t a hard game to win compared to the previous ones.
“I’m proud of the fact that the girls managed to win with the highest score so far,” Gunn said. “Everybody did their part and made the best of the game which I think brought us the win.”
The Mustangs are now 2-1 overall and will rematch Redondo at Alondra Golf Course on Thursday. Nagy said she plans to focus on consistency at Thursday’s game.
“I hope our team can keep the win streak by performing well at the next game,” Nagy said. “We will try our best to keep bringing the intensity and energy.”
