Mira Costa’s girls tennis team defeated Marlborough High School 11-7 at a home match this Tuesday. A leading performance from doubles pair junior Bella Buchta and senior Elena Olsen helped capture the win for Costa.

Buchta and Olsen won two sets 6-3 and 6-4. In singles sophomore Audrey Vo won three sets 6-1, 6-4, 6-3 and sophomore Olga Nagy won one set 6-1. According to Olsen, she had strong rallies and great opportunities for hits that helped their duo win both matches.

“Costa played really well against Marlborough today,” Olsen said. “I am proud of everyone who played and how we contributed a lot of energy to the match.”

Costa, now 3-1 overall, will play Dana Hills in a match tomorrow at home. This week will be especially strenuous, consisting of 3 games, so they will have to keep practicing hard to stay ahead said Olsen.

“We can work on being more consistent in our points and being patient during the point,” Nagy said. “I also think we can work on the more mental aspect of the game like focusing throughout the match.”
