A total of 108 students in Mira Costa’s Model United Nations Program will be attending the annual Edison High School Model United Nations conference at Edison High School on Saturday Oct. 22-23.
According to Model United Nations Secretary General, Samantha Walley, this conference will be the first competitive conference of the year. Mostly advanced students will attend, with a couple of freshmen showing promise.
“This debate is very important because it helps the teachers of MUN decide who will go in which travel trips, and indicated future goals for the team,” Walley said.
For this debate, partners are chosen by the students. The students will prepare by writing their papers, and presenting their speeches.
“We hope to win best large delegation, and for our delegates to grow as much as possible and get experience before our travel trips,” Walley said.
