The Panthers came out strong in the second half, keeping Costa on their heels until the end of the fourth. Costa trailed 60-57 with seconds left on the clock, until guard, Carson Carrey, hit a deep three to send the game to overtime. Costa fell just short in overtime, slightly losing by a score of 70-67.

“It’s hard to lose one like that because we were so close the whole way and come up short at the end,” Carson Carrey said.

Costa, now 6-10 overall and 0-1 in Bay League will play a 7:30 game at Palos Verdes on Friday, Jan 12th  in their second league game. Costa must play stout defense against the Sea Kings to get their first Bay League win.
