Costa Basketball beats Marshall High School 69-59

Costa’s Boys Basketball team defeated the Marshall High School Barristers by a score of 69-59 on Jan. 10th, at the Calabasas High School Showcase. Costa’s top scorer was Morgan Clark who scored 30 percent of Costa’s points.

Costa played well in the backcourt and frontcourt with both teams scoring often. Costa had a huge fourth quarter surge that led them to a 69-59 win. Costa’s defense also played very well in the fourth only allowing Marshall to score 6 points.

“We made a nice run in the second half and forced some turnovers on defense,” sophomore Max Macalla said.

Costa now 9-10 on the season will play Inglewood High School on Friday, Jan. 19 at home in a Bay League conference game. To win the Mustangs will have to shut down the high scoring Inglewood offense.

“We started to move the ball better and we made a few threes which helped us take the lead,” sophomore Max Macalla said.
