On Jan. 20, Costa’s girls soccer team defeated West Torrance 3-0. The girls came into the game with confidence after a win against their rivals, Redondo.
“Our team felt confident going into the West Torrance game because we had just gotten a win against Redondo that previous Friday which boosted our energy on the field,” said junior Skylar Hauck. “This was also our second time playing Torrance and we had won the first game.”
Although West Torrance had a strong defense that made it difficult to score, Costa was able to push through and secure the win. By working together as a team through strategic passes, and controlling the ball, they came away with a victory.
“The hardest part of the game was overcoming west Torrance’s defense, but we managed,” said Hauck. “I think my team played very well and continuously worked hard to get each and every ball.”
