The Costa girls rugby team competed in three seven-on-seven matchups on Jan. 24 against View Park, Partick Henry, and Mission Bay. The Mustangs tied all three games, each ending in a 15-15 score.
“I think the games went well given the circumstances of our team that weekend,” said junior prop, Georgia Fluker. “We were missing three essential players but this meant the underclassmen were given the opportunity to get more playing time and we capitalized on the oppertunity.”
Though they did not secure a win, the Mustangs performance reflected resilience and determination. Playing without a full starting lineup, the proved their ability to compete under pressure and hold their ground throughout the day.
“Valiant effort from the girls,” said senior fly half, Theodora Tuitupou, “but I know we can do better for our senior night on Saturday and I look forward to playing .”
