The beloved Peets Coffee location closed downtown in Manhattan Beach after 27 years of operation. The closure is part of a nationwide realignment of the company, which includes shutting down at least 27 locations to align with their long-term growth priorities.
The downtown location has been a staple for over 2 decades, known as a community hub for locals and visitors. It was the perfect spot for a quick coffee before school or work, a casual meeting place for friends, or a quiet moment to watch the town pass by.
According to the company, the decision was not a reflection of Manhattan Beach’s store popularity, but rather a strategic business move. Due to rising operation costs, shifting consumer habits, and a renewed focus on limited locations, Peets Coffee decided to shut down some of their stores.
For many in Manhattan Beach, it will be remembered not just as a place to grab coffee, but as a familiar part of daily life and a shared community space that helped define the town. Peets Coffee will be missed deeply.
