Coachella 2025 weekend one took place from April 11-13 at the Empire Polo Club in Indio California. Headliners consisted of Lady Gaga, Post Malone, Green Day, and Travis Scott, however there were a wide variety of notable performers such as Charli xcx, Tyla, Sammy Virji, Zedd, and more.
There was backlash from fans about this years lineup since it has significantly less “popular” performers compared to previous years. The main headliners did the bare minimum and did not exceed expectations, meanwhile the non headliner performers were the best ones to watch.
Coachella is infamous for headliners bringing out surprise guests, and it was disappointing when none of them did. Despite the mediocre performances from the headliners, artists like Zedd, Green Day, and Charli xcx made up for it.
With the scorching hot temperatures above 100 degrees, the misters throughout the festival were extremely refreshing as well as the free water stations. The festival offered a variety of pop ups like Buldak Ramen and Takis, where festival goers could wait in line for free merchandise.
There were an abundance of food options such as mac and cheese, chicken tenders, burgers, and offered different types of food like acai bowls, Indian food, and Chinese food. The food, although outrageously expensive ($30 for chicken tenders and fries), was above average for festival food.
The lines to get into the festival itself were not too long, but the shuttle pass lines were extremely disorganized. It took about an hour and a half after the festival to get on a shuttle due to the very low availability of shuttles.
For campers this year, the traffic into and out of the festival grounds was more heavy and congested compared to previous years. Campers had to wait in line for eight hours just to get into the campgrounds, and another few hours after that to actually get to their spot.
On a positive note, the music itself had very little malfunctions. Maybe one or two here and there, but nothing worth noting. There were brief periods where wristband scanners malfunctioned, but it was never too much of a hassle!
Overall, Coachella weekend one 2025 went smoothly. With very few negatives, the phenomenal lineup easily made up for them.
