Costa Students Honor AAPI Heritage Month

On Thursday, May 29, an assembly was held in the Mustang Mall for Asian American Pacific Is-
lander Heritage (AAPI) Month, honoring the culture and traditions of the AAPI community. This served as a meaningful way to spread awareness around Costa about different cultures.

Students and staff came together to enjoy featured booths organized by various groups. There were also cultural dances performed on the stage, including hula dancers who showcased various routines. This cultural event highlights the diverse voices and stories within the community.

“I think cultural awareness about different cultures around the world is important for understanding the world,” said Costa junior Theodora Tuitupou. “I think it’s good to know that we’re not the only group of people on the earth, so being exposed to different cultures can help the depth of your perspective.”
