Costa welcomes new ASB officer

Costa’s student body voted in its new ASB officers this past April, ushering in a new chapter of student leaders. After a week of campaigns around the school and online, elected officers are now set up to take on the role of representing student voices in campus decisions.
Representing the entire student body are Lyla Pool as Student Body President, Jaden Kelley as Vice-President, Riley Campion as Treasurer, and Sophia Pena as Secretary. Ava Mohr will serve as the MBUSD School Board Representative, providing a student perspective at the district level.
“After all the work they’ve put into Costa, I do think the officers will step up to the plate.” ASB student Lily Afify said. “They’ve already shown commitment and leadership, so I am excited to see how they will grow throughout the next school year.”
Class of 2026 President Juna Manabe, Vice-President Rowan Rawal, and Secretary/Treasurer Hayden Pennino. The Class of 2027 elected Brooke Jadon, Jewel Young, and Ben Winckler to those same roles. Their goal is not only to represent their classes, but exemplify the values that Costa upholds. Whether it’s bringing ideas or fostering school spirit, these students are reliable figures for other students to turn to for a voice.
Additionally, the Class of 2028 Officers Emily Linnecke, Shay Rawal, and Brynn Pena moreover provide new faces of leadership to ASB. Considering what they bring to the table already, Afify observes that ASB will continue to be a thriving class of spirited individuals, ready to help make Costa an engaging campus.
“With a new wave of officers, I’m excited to see what new ideas and initiatives they can bring to campus,” Afify said. “I can tell that they have a lot to offer.”
The newly elected officers have shown a steady commitment and clear understanding as they step into their roles for next year. Officers play a key role in Costa’s student body, and their accountability helps ensure the success of the school in the future.
Incoming and returning Mustangs can look forward to a renewed campus culture. With a new range of perspectives, Costa is in store for new leadership and collaboration, excited to see what 2025-26 officers bring to campus.
