Approximately 100,000 people gathered at the Hermosa Pier to celebrate Fiesta Hermosa, a biannual three-day fair lasting from May 24 to May 26. Organized by the Hermosa Beach Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau, the festival transforms the Hermosa Pier into a lively scene highlighting over 220 small businesses and artists.

Fiesta Hermosa has been a tradition in the South Bay for over 50 years. The festival began as a small art show highlighting local artists in Hermosa, and has now grown into a well known celebration in Southern California. Normally there are two Fiesta Hermosa events each year, but the Memorial Day weekend event marked the only one for 2025.

“It’s interesting to see how so many local small businesses are featured at Fiesta Hermosa,” said Costa junior Nora Wolfman. “I loved seeing what each business had to offer and being able to support them.”

Aside from showcasing local businesses, Fiesta Hermosa’s goal is to create enjoyable experiences for residents of Hermosa, and its surrounding communities. According to ABC7 Los Angeles, the lively atmosphere makes Fiesta Hermosa an amusing and memorable place for many individuals.

“It was so much fun to walk around the pier with my friends and get to experience all the fun attractions, listen to live music, and eat great food,” said Costa freshman Hamilton Leon.

Fiesta Hermosa is a celebration of community, providing opportunities for people to come together to enjoy the unique aspects of the Hermosa Beach community and culture. Costa senior Natasha Randeniya finds this to be a great chance to enjoy and celebrate the weekend with loved ones.

“I had such a great time at Fiesta Hermosa this year, the celebration of our small community is so fun to see and experience,” said Costa sophomore Payton Obermeyer. “It’s a great way to start off the summer and I am so happy I got to attend and experience it with all my best friends this past weekend.”
