LiAngelo Ball, the middle child of the famous Ball Brothers, recently released a new single titled “Tweaker.” Debuting on Jan. 3, the track instantly gained popularity, giving the audience a sense of nostalgia for the early 2000’s. With its catchy chorus and beat, “Tweaker” has quickly become one of the top songs in 2025.

While Ball is better known for his basketball career, being heavily involved in elite basketball since his early teens, he’s creating a name for himself in the music world as G3. His father, LaVar Ball, also created a show called Ball in the Family, a reality show that brought the family into the spotlight and offered an inside look at the lives of Lonzo, LiAngelo, and LaMelo Ball.

The “swerve” in Ball’s career toward the musical direction has come by surprise to many, but his combination of effortless flow and catchy lyrics has made him a huge hit in the sports community. “Tweaker” has become an anthem over the last couple weeks, as many major professional sports teams have been playing the song in locker rooms across the country to celebrate wins. Viral videos on Instagram, TikTok, and other social media platforms are gaining heavy popularity and continue to boost the song’s popularity.

NBA All-Star Baron Davis weighed in on the song during an appearance on the The Draymond Green Show, praising G3 for the song and its unique vibe.

The catchy hook, “I might swerve, bend that corner, woah-oah,” has even earned respect from many of G3’s peers and other artists. Other rappers like Lil Yachty and T-Pain have posted pictures and videos sharing their excitement over the song and talking about its nostalgic vibe. The song has fans and other rappers remencising on the past and the early 2000s hip-hop scene.

“Tweaker” stands out not just for its catchy beat, but also for its smooth vocals and memorable lyrics. Ball’s flow is natural and easygoing, capturing the carefree vibe of early 2000s hip-hop. The hook—“I might swerve, bend that corner, woah-oah”—is instantly catchy and brings a sense of confidence and fun. The lyrics touch on themes of living in the moment and embracing freedom, resonating with listeners who vibe with that laid-back, yet bold, energy. While still early in his musical career, Ball’s delivery shows potential, proving he’s not just another athlete dabbling in music but an artist creating his own lane.

The momentum continues to build for Ball as he was recently announced as a performer for the Rolling Loud California opening day lineup. Ball will share the stage with top rappers like A$AP Rocky, YG, and BossMan Dlow, performing at the music festival at Hollywood Park Grounds in March.

With “Tweaker” continuing to make waves, Ball is showing his musical potential. As G3 moves forward, fans are excited to see what’s to come in 2025.
