Mira Costa Students and Staff Show their Spirit in the ASB Costume Contest

On Thursday, October 31st, ASB hosted its annual Halloween Costume Contest at the Mustang Mall during Office Hours.

The annual Halloween contest has been a tradition at Costa for over 30 years. All students and staff at Costa can participate in the contest by joining ASB on stage for a photo of their costume. There were many unique costumes, from the English department’s Mario karts to students dressed as bananas.

“The costume contest was a super fun way to get all the students at costa together,” said ASB member Madison Young, “my favorite costume was the super mario karts.”

At lunch, crowds gathered to see the winners who were selected and announced by fourth period ASB. A total of 21 unique awards were given to staff and students, including Celebrity Look-Alike, Scariest Costume, Best Group Costume, and more.

“I enjoyed participating in this costume contest because I was able to be creative and show off my hard work,” said one of the winners, “I also really enjoyed the friendly competition.”
