Pardon Our Take

Welcome back, Mustangs, to Pardon Our Take. We hope you had an exciting Halloween because we sure know Football did. The student section really showed out in their halloween costumes. Everyone was a ghost this year. Other than that, they wrapped up the season with a first round D3 loss as the 13th seed. Truly the grand finale FNL deserved.
It’s almost Basketball season and we got a little preview of it during Mustang Madness. The boys were showing off their dunks (well, trying to), and the girls’ dance was so good that it almost made everyone forget about how bad the actual basketball was.
Girls Volleyball wrapped up their season with quite the finale. After losing in the second game of CIF and the first game of state, they’re now setting their sights on redemption, trying to win LipSync…
Meanwhile, Boys Beach Volleyball quietly won CIF… again. I bet you didn’t know that until now. Kudos to them, I guess. You’d think a CIF-winning team would be funded enough to pay for their coaches, but apparently “end-of-season practices getting cut” was the celebration plan.
And let’s not forget about the so-called talk of the town (though literally no one’s talking about it) Wrestling is starting a girls’ team! You’d think having one girl on the team before would’ve made it clear that maybe no one else was interested, but nope. They saw that and said, “You know what we need? A whole separate team for that one person.” Bold move.
That being said, here are the top five Costa fall sports that deserve more hype:
1.Boys Beach Volleyball – CIF champs who can’t afford their coaches.
2. Girls Golf – the real masters of “it’s not about the score” and thank goodness for that.
3. Comedy Sportz – getting more audience engagement than football will ever get.
4. Girls Flag Football – the only team that has to beg for field time and reposts just to be noticed.
5. Cross Country – running for fun while it’s everyone else’s punishment.
That’s your Costa sports rundown for this month. Tune in next time for more hot takes and as always, please Pardon Our Take.
