Popstar Tate McRae ended her blockbuster Miss Possessive Tour with a full-circle moment at the Kia Forum on Saturday, November 8, returning to the same stage where she performed earlier in September.
The sold-out finale marked the official end of McRae’s month-long world tour in support of her hit album, So Close to What, released back in February. The 21-year-old Canadian artist delivered an electrifying set filled with fan favorites like “greedy,” “exes,” “you broke me first,” and “Revolving door.” The setlist blended strong vocals with tight choreography alongside the eye-drawing stage design that had the 17,000-seat audience on their toes the entire concert.
Mid-show, McRae paused to give a genuine thanking speech for what she called “my biggest dream” and “the most unforgettable year of my life.” Shortly after, she surprised the audience with a major announcement: So Close to What??? (deluxe), releasing on Friday, November 21. Moments after the show, she confirmed the exciting news on Instagram, captioning the post, “we had a few more songs that I wanted to share with y’all to close out the [So Close to What] era.”
Starting in Mexico City on March 18 and ending in Los Angeles, the Forum show closed an 83 date global tour which stretched across Europe, North America, and South America. LA was the city that helped launch her early career, giving the night an emotional weight and a sentimental stadium to close at.
As confetti rained down during her final encore, McRae exited the ecstatic stage atmosphere with a thunderous standing ovation, closing one era and teasing the next, with So Close to What??? (deluxe) just around the corner.
