The First Club Day of the Year

Mira Costa has a long history of fun treats and engaging activities offered by clubs on club day. This year, our first club day is set to be on Wednesday, October 1st. Club day is meant to be a time for clubs to come out and show off their values and hopefully recruit some new members. Our school has quite an impressive variety of clubs, ranging from Heart Club which advocates for kindness and student community to The African Animals Club which aims to bring awareness to endangered animals in Africa. I’ve spoken with the president of Heart Club, Rachel Cecere who is a senior here at Costa; she’s given the readers a chance to take a quick look at what she and her club members plan on doing for club day…When asked what message she would want to send out on behalf of Heart Club, Cecere stated, “I just want to make sure everyone knows that Heart Club is a safe space and that our message is to spread kindness and support throughout the campus. Everyone is welcome to join and attend our club meetings on Monday’s at lunch”. Cecere voiced that she’s most excited for “being able to see what all the other clubs are up to and what they choose to do for the first club day of the year. And also seeing all the new clubs that were just recently made official”. According to Cecere, “We haven’t figured it out completely yet but, Heart Club is most likely going to have a little table set up with an informative board for students to read and learn more about us, some little games, and we’ll see if we can get some snacks up there too since everyone loves food”. All students are welcome to join the fun and explore what Costa clubs have got to offer. Remember the date: Wednesday, October 1st.
