The new King of Kings movie that came out on April 11, 2025, has received a lot of praise for the animation and storytelling. The story follows Charles Dickens who is explaining the story of Jesus’ life to his son while imagining he is in the events himself.

The story follows Jesus’ life starting with his birth and going through his ministry, crucifixion, and finally resurrection. The movie is focused on conveying a message to young kids about hope and love but also teaching them about the story of Jesus. The animation makes it visually appealing and the lesson makes it an incredible film for kids to watch. The crucifixion of Jesus was shaped into mild violence in a kid-friendly manner that focused on sacrifice.

The movie has gained a lot of positive feedback from the public. The movie has had the most successful opening weekend for an animated faith-based film since The Prince of Egypt in 1988.
Although the movie has gotten a lot of praise, some critics believe that the mix between comedy and storytelling can sometimes take away from the message during some scenes. Others believe that the character animation could have been better.

Nevertheless, King of Kings is an incredible movie for families to watch to get educated on the life of Jesus. The movie takes a somewhat complicated story and makes it kid-friendly and entertaining. Today, The King of Kings is only available in theaters but will be available for digital purchase in June.
