This year’s Homecoming Week began today as court members dressed up as “celebrity feuds” and participated in games during lunch.
Couples dressed as celebrity feuds including Nicki Minaj and Miley Cyrus, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt and Kylie Jenner and Tyga. During the games, the boys had to shake a ping pong ball out of a tissue box strapped to their waists, while the girls had to retrieve the ping pong ball and give it to an Associated Student Body member and then move five skittles with a straw to a different plate.
“My favorite part about the game was actually trying to get the ping pong ball out of the box,” senior and Homecoming court member Duke Mahr said. “It is harder than everyone thinks and it was so fun to watch everyone do it too.”
Today was the first day of homecoming games because there is no school next Wednesday due to Yom Kippur. ASB has planned a series of games for the six couples to play every day next week during lunch. Next week will conclude with a pep rally and a dance from the Homecoming court on Friday.
“I’m so excited for the costumes next week because they get bigger and better,” Mahr said. “I am also super excited to share our dance with everyone at the pep rally.”
