Mira Costa’s boys basketball team defeated Price High School 50-43 in an away game during the El Segundo Tournament on Thursday. The Mustangs were led to victory by both senior point guard Brandon Chan and senior guard Ryan White.

Costa quickly took the lead in the beginning of the game, ending the first half 27-15. The Mustangs continued to dominate the game by the third quarter 36-29. Costa continued to advance and ultimately won the game 50-43.

“I think that we boxed out really well and we played physical overall against a big team,” senior post Jacob Magelby said.

The Mustangs, now 4-3 overall, next play Warren High School during the El Segundo Tournament in an away game on Friday. According to Magelby, the team thinks it will be another success next game.

“I think that we will use the momentum from tonight’s win and use it for tomorrow’s game to help us get a win,” junior guard Owen Pugnale.
