In the second game against Centennial High School, the mustangs were unable to score a try during their offense plays and were defeated 54-0. During the last half of the second game against Roosevelt High School senior Maria Meola ran into the try zone following a tackle on the opposing team to bring the final score to a 30-5 Roosevelt win.

“The games today went well even though it was very difficult because our team is still new to the sport,” freshman Maddie Lathbury said. “I believe that we need to improve on not hesitating when making our tackles but we did very well with our communication during all our games.”

Costa is currently 1-12-1 overall and 0-5 in the Socal Red Division. They will next play against Roosevelt High School at Roosevelt on Friday, Feb. 3.

“For our games next week, I expect that we will be able to reflect on our games today and be able to improve on what we need to work on during practice in order to win.” Sophomore Taiana Fonua said.
