1. The new field on the west side of campus is nearly open for all teams to practice and play on. The field was funded this past year by the MBX foundation and was supported by the community.
2. The colors on the field are a mix of the mustang’s green and gold with white numbers on the sideline. The new colors were hoped to be a new change of scenery to the current stadium football field.
3. The baseball field is going to be turf and will be given a designated area next to the football field. Workers worked on the field for the whole summer in order for the field to be ready for the beginning of the school year.
4. A new type of turf will be used on the new field for better health and safety while playing. Students were concerned of the black rubber pellets on the stadium field because they have been shown to cause cancer.
5. No seats or stands are on the field yet but they will be implemented in the upcoming future. Many parents of student athletes helped to fund the project in hopes of seeing their child play on the field.
