Costa’s Associated Student Body rescheduled the Winter Formal from Jan. 26 to Feb. 9 due to complications with the venue.
The original venue did not have a large enough dance floor, and the date conflicted with California Interscholastic Federation sports games, ASB member and sophomore Milla Solnicki. The dance will now be held on a yacht in Marina Del Rey.
“Thankfully, the date change hasn’t been a big inconvenience on our preparation for the dance,” Solnicki said. “We believe that the new venue will be more enjoyable than the original one.”
The date change has not caused a big issue in the sense of planning, according to Solnicki. ASB notified the rest of the Costa students as soon as they discovered the problem.
“The reschedule of the Winter Formal date was an inconvenience for me because with the original date I had no conflictions, but since it was changed I am now not able to attend due to a volleyball tournament,” freshman Shannon Knight said. “I was really looking forward to attending, but now I cannot.”
