Teachers filled the majority of the room at the MBUSD district board meeting. The meeting starts off with the pledge of allegiance and a performance from MBMS’s drama class.
The first teacher who spoke was English teacher, Ms. Chen. She speaks about teacher wages and what she feels should change within the policies of the school.
Teachers put up signs and posters during Ms. Chen’s speech. They clap along as they support her.
Lisa Mittleman, mom of Costa student, spoke as the first parent. She addresses the problem of students not getting the proper teaching they need when teachers leave on maternity leave.
Teacher, Ms. Wachell, addressed the same idea as Lisa Mittleman to the board. She claims when she was off for maternity leave, that her students were not being taught well.
