Drama/Tech Dept. searches for solutions to enable “Into the Woods” to go on

Amid Coronavirus cancellations, the Drama and Tech Department is in the process of finding a way to ensure that it’s spring musical, Into the Woods can still be showcased. The show was supposed to open on April 24; however, the extended school shut down until May 5, the performances will not be able to occur. Additionally, because students may not gather during this time, they have not been rehearsing.

Schools safeguard against coronavirus, prepare for closures

The district is working in close conjuction with the Los Angeles County Department of Health to ensure it takes the appropriate precautions and is well-educated about the virus. Along with conducting more targeted custodial services and cancelling school trips abroad to safeguard against the virus, district teachers have begun preparing the protocol for handling school shut downs.   […]

National Charity League Paints Storm Drains to Promote Clean Oceans

Senior members of the National Charity League’s Manhattan-Hermosa chapter painted storm drains along the Manhattan Beach strand over the summer as part of their senior project. The miniature paintings feature various ocean life and the county of Los Angeles’ “No Dumping” logo. They serve as a reminder of the effects that pollution has on the ocean and to discourage people from littering into these drains.  […]
