Cross Country beats the heat at their second meet of the season

On September 6, Mira Costa High School’s Cross Country Team beat the heat in their second meet of the season called the Cool Breeze Invitational at the Brookside Country Club, in Pasadena. The JV girls were the first to race, resulting in a victory led by senior Ella Scalabrini, who finished third out of 190 runners. Mira Costa Girls Golf improved immensely in their rematch against Diamond Bar High School on Thursday, Sept. 26. Coach Tom Cox purposely placed them against really good teams for their non-league matches to prepare them for when the league starts. The Mustangs went up against Diamond Bar High School at the Diamond Bar Golf Course with a course score of par 36. The Mira Costa Cross Country Team ran toward the finish line, and placed highly at the Masters University Invite Meet on Saturday, Sep. 28th. Boys Varsity came in 1st as a team, and were led by senior Thomas Velvin who came in 3rd overall.
