M.B. Post is providing residents of the South Bay with a new and unique way to go out and eat. M.B. Post not only provides customers with a place to eat, but it also creates a memorable dining experience. The restaurant, in the heart of Manhattan Beach, has a rustic design that deaws in customers through its new social style of dining. Chef and co-owner David LeFevre, created a menu that brings all of his culinary finds to the South Bay and allows customers to experience different culinary flavors.

When customers enter M.B. Post, they should expect a social experience involving food. The menu is designed to allow everyone to taste a little of everything with dishes that are meant to be shared in a home style fashion. With a menu that offers various options, customers can explore while having dinner. Unlike other restaurants, there are no side dishes. Every dish at the restaurant is designed to feel like an entrée, and the unique dish names help with the relaxed playful tone that truly make it a social experience.

“My favorite aspect of the restaurant was the tapas-style entrees that allowed everyone to order something different so that we could all share,” senior Shelbi Thompson said. “Everyone got to try a little bit of everything.”

The atmosphere of the restaurant is another factor that makes M.B. Post unique. Though there is a rustic feel to the restaurant, it also provides a modern twist that makes it a trendy spot. The long tables help enhance conversation while eating, while its openness, such as an open kitchen where you customers can see the food being made, translates into a relaxed and modern vibe. In M.B. Post, customers get the best of both worlds with a comfortable setting with all the perks of a modern eatery.

“The atmosphere was very eclectic and unique,” Thompson said. “It is rather dark and feels a bit like an old warehouse with communal seating in the bar area.”
The restaurant has quickly exploded into a social spot in Manhattan Beach. The customer service impresses the restaurant’s customers even though it has been very busy. M.B. Post has been able to provide an unforgettable dining experience for its customers despite their busy schedule. “It was really busy, but the service was really great,” Senior Sabrina Hutchinson said.

What truly set M.B. Post apart from other restaurants are the new ways in which it helps the customer feel comfortable. It is not just a restaurant, but a part of the community that values its patrons and their opinions. It reflects this in its process of getting customer feedback that allows other customers to see everyone’s opinion.

“At the end of the meal, the waitress brought us a book with the check,” Thompson said. “The book was filled with feedback from previous diners, and we could add our own remarks.”

The restaurant, originally the site of a postal office, tries to bring back the authentic feel of the community and reflects Manhattan Beach’s relaxed feel. The restaurant is becoming more popular as people begin to spread the word of this new dining place and is becoming a standout in the community.

“Since the restaurant is in the location of an old post office, they deliver your menus in an envelope as homage to Manhattans history.” Hutchinson said.

M.B. Post is located in Downtown Manhattan Beach steps away from the strand that help echo its calm tone. While the M.B. Post is a little expensive, the food and experience prove worth the price. Sunday through Thursday, the hours are from 5-10pm and Friday to Saturday 5-11pm. The restaurant also serves brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 10am-1:30pm. The restaurant provides a warm environment and a unique experience that sticks with its customers long after they are gone.

“Overall, the restaurant is very trendy and a fun place to go out to eat,” Thompson said.
