The 2012 Costa graduation will be held in Waller Stadium at 5 p.m. on Thursday.

This year parents, family and friends were able to enter their names into a lottery throughout the weeks leading up to graduation for a chance to receive priority seating.

“The order that names are picked will determine their place in line for seats,” Vice Principal Jaime Mancilla said. “These people will be able to reserve their space in Waller Stadium at six p.m. the day prior to graduation.”

A committee made up of teachers, counselors and students chose seniors Charley Binkow and Mackenzie Austin to deliver speeches at graduation. Trent Fuji will also will be giving a speech as part of his duty as senior class president.

“I’m really excited to attempt to capture and represent the sentiment of the graduating class,” Binkow said.

In order to help the occasion run smoothly, current junior class valedictorians have been chosen to work at graduation as ushers.

“I’m excited to work graduation because it’s an honor to be chosen to do so, and I think it will be really fun,” junior Kara Enomoto said. “I will miss the seniors a lot because they are really fun and unique people.”
