Costa varsity girls tennis wins final game of regular season

The Mira Costa girls tennis team won their last Bay League game of the season against Chadwick on Oct. 23. Their record is now 15-2 overall and 7-2 in Bay League.

Sophomore Brooke Swallow won all three of her sets against Chadwick with scores of 7-6, 6-1, 6-0. Doubles partners, senior Carly McGuire and sophomore Mai Nojima won both of their sets with final scores of 6-3 and 6-1. Senior Sulibeth Ortiz and junior Sidney Ascher beat Chadwicks’ number two doubles team, 6-2.

“Our team did really well over all and we had a strong finish,” Ortiz said.

That was the last match for the regular season. The CIF matches will begin with the Bay League singles on Oct. 24. The matches for Bay League doubles are on Oct. 25.
