With the Flatbush Four back in action, the old boys come together in Vegas for the best bachelor party of their lifetime. “Last Vegas” was very well written and funny with some warm heart touching scenes.

“Last Vegas,” directed by Dan Fogelman, turned four old mens lives into a high thrill packed adventure with alcohol, women, and gambling in Las Vegas. With these four legends brought together this was one of the funnier movies of the year.

The Flatbush Four consisted of Billy(Michael Douglas), Paddy(Robert De Niro), Archie(Morgan Freeman), and Sam(Kevin Kline). After many years all of them stayed in touch, besides Paddy and Billy who had their friendship broken slightly when Billy did not go to Paddy’s beloved wife’s funeral.

When Paddy, Archie, and Sam all find out that Billy got engaged, they wanted to repay him for throwing all of their bachelor parties. They took him and each other to the Sin City. With so many distractions there, the group had to stay out of trouble as best as they could.

This movie had it’s good parts and it’s bad parts. There were more good parts then bad parts, but many areas of improvement. The director does a very good job of hooking the audience to the relationship of the friends and of others they met or love.

This movie also has it’s many bads. After many jokes about each other’s old age, starting right from the beginning all the way to the very last scene, they just lost their humor and were overused. With the actors the director had to work with, he could have created more humorous jokes.

The director could have improved greatly by expanding the variety of jokes. These actors were very funny and could even make a repeated joke funnier every time it was said. But, towards the end of the movie, there were some lines and jokes that were very predictable and overused.

This movie was very much so overlooked mainly because it was a predictable plot. Give the director some credit, he had some twists and turns along the way, but some of it was predictable. “Last Vegas” was very good and should be watched and not overlooked.

“Last Vegas” was written down as a comedy, but while many came in to the movie viewing it as a comedy many went out thinking of it as a warm hearted movie. This piece of work did a great job of incorporating a great amount of caring scenes into it’s humorous base.

The director used these four stars well, but not to their full potential, and did not have a huge spread of different jokes. On the other hand, he turned a basic predictable plot into a loving but hysterical piece of work.

This film was worth it’s time and it’s cost. Although there was room to improve the director did a great job because of his actors and plot.

“Last Vegas” is available nationwide and is rated PG-13.
