When looking for fashion tips, people tend to turn to pages in magazines and search online to get helpful advice. One Costa student has made it her goal to have a place where people can come to find helpful fashion advice.

Sophomore Paloma Deinum-Buck’s blog, “From Paloma with Love,” offers its viewers fashion tips and ideas for outfits. She started her blog in Jan. 2013.

“I love blogging because it’s my way of expressing myself and doing what I love on a public platform,” Deinum-Buck said. “I just do it for myself and I love fashion and writing and it’s a great combination of both.”

Deinum-Buck created the blog to share information with anyone that was interested. Since starting her blog a majority of the readers are young adults and teenagers.

“Before I started reading her blog I used to come to school in sweats and now I come more fashionable,” sophomore Reilly Auville said. “It gives me a lot of inspiration to try out new stuff and it’s nice, I feel a lot better.”

Since starting the blog in January, the blog has been viewed over ten thousand times. Every Tuesday and Saturday Deinum-Buck uploads a new post that could be about anything from what to wear to how to reorganize a room.

“I get inspired by daily life, my friends, family, things I see in magazines and on television,” Deinum-Buck said.

In order to create some of the posts Deinum-Buck turns to her friends. By using her friends, Deinum-Buck is able to have models for her posts and at times her friends will help pick out pieces for looks.

“I love helping her because shes one of my best friends and it means a lot to her,” sophomore Auville said. “It’s fun helping her make outfits and I actually apply some of what I see to stuff I wear to school.”

In each fashion post, Deinum-Buck includes a brief description of the outfit and the makeup look that she has chosen. The posts do not just include everyday outfits but also outfit ideas for events or holidays.

“I liked the posts that Paloma did for Halloween,” sophomore Miranda Baldo said. “they were such cute outfits that I would never think of and they were so unique. ”

Deinum-Buck not only posts on her own personal blog but will also share her posts with other sources such as Teen Vogue’s Fashion Click and Lucky Magazine. As long as posts fit the needed requirements, they will be posted onto the website it was submitted to.

“I wanted to try and get my blog out in the public eye a little more and I’d always thought that it would be an amazing thing to do for my blog if I had the chance to,” Deinum-Buck said.

In each post Deinum-Buck gives a brief description of her inspiration for that days posts. Included in these posts are where each piece is from and why she chose to put them together.

“I like how the blog is her, it’s unique, and individual, and it is something that I am able to apply to myself,” sophomore Priya Chatwani said.
