“Dolphin Tale 2” is an entertaining and humorous movie that follows the amazing story of a dolphin named Winter. By the end of the film, after seeing heartwarming scenes of dolphins and the horrible effects of pollution in the ocean, the viewers will have a new appreciation for marine life.

Although some vital characters who played a big part in the prequel are absent, well-known actresses such as Bethany Hamilton and Ashley Judd make the movie even more appealing for viewers who wouldn’t have otherwise watched it. Lastly, as a result of the awareness this movie brings about helping marine life, “Dolphin Tale 2” is entertaining for all ages.

In the sequel, after losing a dear dolphin known as Panama, Winter’s once playful attitude completely disappears. Throughout the movie, the team at Clearwater Marine Aquarium desperately search for another female dolphin to once again make Winter happy. Along the way, Winter forms a beautiful friendship with a boy named Sawyer.

While the movie was full of heartwarming scenes. it also included humorous aspects. One character in particular, a pelican named Rufus, was a big hit. Constantly causing mischief, the audience grew an unusual fondness towards Rufus. He added an amusing, yet adorable, touch to the movie.

In addition, the movie contained many outstanding clips where Sawyer would go swimming with dolphins in the aquarium. By using high tech underwater cameras, the photographers were able to clearly capture these graceful mammals in action.

Throughout Dolphin Tale 2, a new sense of sympathy is formed towards these animals due to one adorable turtle in particular. When a small, innocent sea turtle is found stuck in a fishing hook, the viewers can’t help but watch with empathy and heartache. By the end of the movie, an overwhelming respect for animal like him is formed.

In the movie, Sawyer, the main character, is suddenly more mature and seems to know how to run the whole aquarium by himself. The viewers can’t help but feel a bit out of place since he is no longer the cute, naive boy in “Dolphin Tale.”

One noticeable letdown was that the doctor who created Winter’s prosthetic fin, played by Morgan Freeman, only showed up at the end of the movie. This was a minor letdown because he was such a vital character in “Dolphin Tale.”

However, “Dolphin Tale 2” will make everyone’s heart melt. The extraordinary story about a playful dolphin will inspire both kids and adults, no matter what age, that everything is possible with determination and love.

“Dolphin Tale 2” is rated PG and available in theaters nationwide.
