The Mira Costa Girls Volleyball team traveled to Peninsula High School in their second league match on Oct 8. The Mustangs won the match in 5 sets 25-20,15-25, 23-25, 25-20,and ultimately 15-10.

The girls started the game with a tough loss in sets two and three, however the Mustangs fought back and came up with a huge win in the fourth set. The early losses helped the Mustangs retain focus and find a way to win.

“After losing the third set, we headed into the fourth with a higher sense of urgency,” Senior middle blocker Katie Rethmeyer said. “The losses caused the whole team to step up.”

The girls next match is in the Torrey Pines tournament, which will take place on October 10 and 11. Their next league match will be on October 14 at 4:15 against their new Bay League opponents, Morningside.
