The girls volleyball team opened up its California Interscholastic Federation journey against Notre Dame on Tuesday at Mira Costa. Given a surprisingly tough challenge against the Knights, the Mustangs pushed the match to five sets. Head coach Lawson-Blancard’s girls were able to pull out the first round victory in the end, winning 25-11, 22-25, 25-23, 16-25, and 15-12.
